For museums and consortia that recognize the strategic and long-term research value of their collections, as well as their role in shaping the future of collections informatics, Founding Members take on a leadership role in Consortium governance and operations. As leaders in the research collections community with a seat on the governing board, Founding Members will share their vision and advance the informatics future of the biological collections community.

For biological collections that want to actively shape the priorities and technological directions of the Consortium, Full Membership provides a leadership opportunity. You will participate in crucial discussions that will determine the cyberinfrastructure support capabilities for your collection and influence the overall direction of biological collections computing worldwide.

For collections that wish to use Consortium’s setup services in the first year to migrate legacy data into the Consortium data model and software, as well as those needing additional technical services for conversion or maintenance of their data in Consortium’s database hosting service, we will collaborate with you as a Solutions Member. Together, we will define your collection’s digitization workflows and configure the software to meet your needs.
